Tribunal Disciplinario y Ética Profesional

The Professional Ethics Disciplinary Tribunal of the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico only evaluates and rules on the ethical aspects of the actions of its members. Claims of a personal nature, such as requests for refunds or contract disputes, must be filed before the Court of First Instance.

An Officer of Professional Interest (OIP) is a licensed attorney appointed by the President of the College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR). The OIP’s role is to investigate potential ethical violations committed by members, file complaints when warranted, and represent the public interest before the Disciplinary Tribunal and Professional Ethics (TDEP). In essence, the OIP serves as an advocate for the public interest and for the integrity of the profession throughout the disciplinary process.
